Thankfully, many bakeries have been offering their cookies online, making it easier to order some of the best-tasting cookies and have them delivered straight to your door. The only problem now is that there are so many cookie companies to order from, how do you know which cookies will be worth it?

That’s where I can help! Our team of reviewers and food experts have been ordering cookies for weeks to find the 5 best cookies you can order online RIGHT NOW.

We ranked the cookie companies by the freshness upon delivery, their unique take on flavors, and the price. Let’s get started!

This is by far our favorite choice if you’re looking for freshly baked cookies that are INSANELY delicious. We hadn’t heard of Royals before, but we’re glad we were recommended these amazing cookies. Baked to order and at your door within two days, these were absolutely the freshest tasting cookies we’ve ordered online. We especially liked C.R.E.A.M. a mix of chocolate and crumbled Oreos to create a unique new flavor of cookie that is impossible not to love. We definitely recommend their Classics bundle to try their best cookies. And best of all, because they’re fairly new, they’re offered a 50% discount for all new orders, which makes Royals also the most affordable cookies on our list. You must try them!

By far, Royals is the best tasting cookie you can order online right now!

Gold Belly makes an amazing variety pack of unique cookies that are super delicious. They’re on the thinner side, which some people like, and have a really moist mouthfeel. Our favorite was the Gooey Buttercake cookie, but they are all really great. The only issue we had with Gold Belly was the price. Their variety pack is certainly on the pricier side, even if you do get a lot of cookies and flavors for the price. If you’re looking for your new favorite, it may be hard to drop that much money for a first try.

Sugarwish does a great job of offering variety at a great price. We love their variety of flavors and were very excited to try them all. They weren’t as fresh as we would have liked them, and the unique taste wasn’t exceptional. Something I enjoy is really being able to differentiate a cookie company from one another. After tasting Royals, I’ll always be able to tell their cookies from another company. Sugarwish didn’t do that for us. That said, for the price and variety, it’s still a top contender.

Insomnia Cookies were some of the first cookies I ordered online. They’re quite a popular chain and offer some really fun flavors. They give you the option to order custom boxes at an unbeatable price, and that’s very appreciated. The one issue I’ve had with Insomnia, is often their cookies take on a cake or uncooked consistency. When cookies are thick (which I love) it’s hard to get the texture right without it tasting like the center of the cookie is under-baked. Insomnia Cookies often have that and it’s not for me. But hey, maybe it’s for you!

You can’t go wrong with MILK Cookies. Some of the most unique cookies on the market. They are one of the originals when it comes to unique cookies that go above and beyond the traditional grocery store cookie. MILK is more available than ever, but their price will get you. It may seem affordable, but when you realize you can often get twice as many fresh-baked cookies that are twice the size for half the price, MILK does become less desirable.

With so many amazing cookie companies out there, we wanted to tell you more about why we chose Royals as our number one. We asked our top pastry critic Stephanie Marriane to explain why she put Royals at the top of the list. Here’s what she had to say.

I’ve been a pastry chef for almost 15 years, so I’ve had just about every dessert, cookie, cake, and pie imaginable from some of the top-rated restaurants and bakeries in the world. That is to say, I have quite a discerning taste. So when I was asked to taste dozens of cookies that had been ordered online and delivered to my home, I’ll admit I wasn’t entirely excited.

But I took on the challenge and started receiving box after box of cookies. After a quick anxiety attack about the amount of sugar I was about to intake, I started tasting.

To be honest, it wasn’t a very fun adventure at first. I knew of Insomnia and MILK and knew they delivered solid cookies everytime. But many of the new companies offering online cookies just weren’t doing it for me. Most weren’t very fresh and they didn’t bring any unique flavors to the table? Why bother, I thought.

Then, I talked to another pastry chef, a friend of mine who I trust to give me the best recommendations and she said she SWORE by Royals. I hadn’t heard of Royals yet and was intrigued.

She told me Royals bakes your order fresh and sends that day, so you’re getting the highest quality cookie to your door. When I went over to house the next day she gave me the Royals Hundred Million Dollar Cookie, a sugar cake cookie covered in sprinkles. I took a bite and was blown away. It was so fresh and soft! And then she told me she ordered that cookie a WEEK AGO. I couldn’t believe it. I had to order my own.

I was happy to see Royals offering 50% off their cookies right now, so I ordered their full menu! A day later I received the order, and once I opened the box I was OBSESSED. The smell alone was mouth-watering.

I tried each cookie over the course of a week (i couldn’t let my love handles win!) and here’s what I thought.

Abbreviated for Cookies Rule Everything Around Me, this cookie is a chocolate lovers DREAM. Semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and Oreo crumbs make this undeniably rich.

    I Need S’more Baby

One of my earliest memories that convinced me I wanted to become a pastry chef was making s’mores with my family aroudn a campfire. I hadn’t thought about that memory in long time, but when I took a bite of this cookie, I was instantly transported. While some cookie companies mimic the flavor of s’mores, this one goes above and beyond. I’ve never had anything like it.

    One Hundred Million Dollar Cookie

Named for the one hundred million sprinkles each cookie is covered in, this is a sugar cookie lover’s dream. Expertly made, I love a good soft sugar cookie, but never want it to taste undercooked. Royals does it right, with the perfect texture without being too soft. And the TASTE is unreal. Hard to describe how GOOD this cookie is…

    The Chocolate Chip

Their version of classic chocolate chips comes with perfectly roasted pecans that really make this cookie one of a kind. I know what you’re thinking, it can’t be classic with pecans! But Royals did something truly amazing and you would be crazy not to try them!
